All my work featured here÷the family book, the portraits and the landscapes÷is driven by my desire to know myself better. I am curious about the world and the people in it. What do they care about? What are they curious about? Although I may not know why I press the camera shutter at a given instant, when I later look at the resulting photograph, I often discover a revealing gesture or glance. An image captures a fleeting moment, yet I often sense I am maintaining a connection with the people Ive photographed. Seeing them, I see myself. Despite differences in culture and language, people everywhere have much in common. I hope you, the viewer, will react with feeling as you look at the portraits on this site. I live in Boston, Massachusetts and have been photographing for ten years.
